Dr. Franco published an article on Findapsychologist.org about post-traumatic growth (PTG). Post-Traumatic Growth is thought to be represented by five different dimensions:
- New possibilities
- Appreciation for life and changed priorities
- Spiritual changes
- Personal strength
- Relating to others
Percieving one or more positive outcomes has been shown to be linked to improved mental health in trauma survivors. Those who tried to find a benefit from their trauma experienced lower levels of depression and a higher perception of well-being.
